There is a Reference Model for SOA available as a candidate standard within OASIS. Over 200 people worked on this - http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=soa-rm

What exactly will be the goal of SOA reference model?

Will it create templates and policies on the architecture for the distinct services-- Meaning-- will it take the service or the system per-se to layout such reference model---for instance Will reservation service be the starting point or will the segment using the reservation system as the service will be reference to start with?

What exact purpose SOA reference model serve?
Whether it would let us comprehend the exact definition as well as approach to SOA-both in terms of design and development?

Is this reference model an endeavor to standardize the SOA for design, development and implementation in the cross section of industry segments?
